Marinode-ai App Terms of Service
The terms on which Marinode AI provides the Marinode-ai team chat app.
1) About these terms 🧭
These terms govern your use of the mobile app published as Marinode-ai, package name com.marinode.zulip, provided by Marinode AI Solutions LLP(“Marinode AI”, “we”), an Indian limited liability partnership. By installing or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
These terms are separate from those for our other products — the Engine Room Ninja platform and FillNode.
2) The app is a client 🔌
Marinode-ai connects to a chat server operated by your organisation, or by us on your organisation’s behalf. Your account is created and controlled on that server, not by the app.
If your organisation operates the server, your use is also governed by that organisation’s own rules, and it — not Marinode AI — decides who may access the workspace, what is retained, and for how long. We are not responsible for the availability or administration of a server we do not operate.
3) Licence 📄
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for the purpose of accessing a chat server you are authorised to use. You may not sell or sublicense the app, or use it to build a competing service.
4) Your account and conduct ✅
- Keep your sign-in credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- Connect only to servers you are authorised to access.
- Do not use the app to harass, threaten or abuse anyone, to send unsolicited bulk messages, to distribute malware, to infringe others’ rights, or to break applicable law.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer for circumvention, or gain unauthorised access to any server or account.
- Content you send is your responsibility. We do not monitor it, but a server administrator may.
5) Your data 📦
How the app handles your information is set out in the Marinode-ai App Privacy Policy. We do not sell your data and we do not use your messages to train AI models. You may request deletion at any time via the Data Deletion page.
6) Open-source components 🧩
Marinode-ai is built on the Zulip mobile client, an open-source project licensed under the Apache License 2.0. Marinode AI is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Zulip project or Kandra Labs, Inc. “Zulip” is a trademark of its respective owner and is used here only to identify the upstream project.
The Apache 2.0 licence, and the licences of other third-party components included in the app, apply to those components and are available on request from privacy@marinode-ai.com. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under those licences.
7) App stores 🏬
The app is distributed through Google Play and the Apple App Store. Your use is also subject to those stores’ terms. This agreement is between you and Marinode AI only — Google and Apple are not parties to it, are not responsible for the app, and have no obligation to provide support for it.
8) Updates and availability 📶
We may release updates, change features, or discontinue the app. We will give reasonable notice of any change that materially reduces functionality. Some updates may be required for the app to keep working with your server. The app is provided without an uptime guarantee unless one is agreed separately in writing.
9) Suspension and termination 🚪
You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end your licence if you breach these terms, and will tell you why where we lawfully can. Your server administrator may independently suspend your account on their server.
10) Warranties and liability ⚖️
The app is provided “as is” to the extent permitted by law. Neither party excludes liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, our total liability arising from the app in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for it in that period, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or loss of profit or data.
11) Changes and governing law 📝
We may update these terms. The current version is always on this page with its version and date. Material changes are notified in the app or by email before they take effect, and continued use after that constitutes acceptance.
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Kerala have exclusive jurisdiction, unless a separate signed agreement says otherwise or your local law gives you a right you cannot waive.
